Webinar and Q&A about access schemes and pathways for entry to degree or diploma studies

Online interactive information Webinar and Q&A, 3:30pm-5:30pm, Wednesday 5 August. The webinar will provide information about different access schemes and pathways for entry to degree or diploma studies, and support services specifically available to students from refugee, refugee-like, or asylum seeker backgrounds.

Who should attend this webinar: 

·        Current high school students from a refugee, refugee-like, and asylum seeker background 

·        Educators in Intensive English Centres or Refugee support roles 

·        Community organisations who provide support to people from a refugee, refugee-like, asylum seeker background 

Mature aged students from refugee, refugee-like and asylum seeker backgrounds wishing to pursue further education at University or TAFE NSW. 

Who will you hear from?

This event is organised by the Refugee Council of Australia, University of Technology Sydney, Western Sydney University, Macquarie University, Charles Sturt University, TAFE NSW and the Department of Education – Refugee Student Programs. You will also hear from current students from a refugee background, who will talk about their own experiences of accessing and thriving at tertiary study. There will be four Q&A “breakout” virtual rooms allowing participants to ask specific questions to members of the expert panels. The topics covered in the virtual breakout rooms are:  

·        Applying to University or TAFE 

·        Scholarships, Awards, Grants 

·        Careers & Industry 

Studying at a regional University.
