It’s that time of the year to start training and registering your team for this year’s CBCity Says NO to DV Tug O’ War Cup and show your support for ending domestic and family violence.

 A fun and physical event that includes teams from across Canterbury-Bankstown, from schools, services, local businesses, and other organisations. All you need to do is form a team, register and start training!

At this year’s CBCity Say NO to Domestic Violence Tug O' War Cup you can hear from a range of experts on healthy relationships, enjoy a FREE barbeque, see performances, visits stalls and participate in a variety of other activities. Our CBKombi will also be there, sharing important information on Domestic Violence. Come along and have a chat with our friendly staff.

 When: Wednesday 20 November

Time: Noon-3pm

Register: Registrations are free and essential before To compete, each team need to consist of six team members, including one reserve. You can register your team here. Compulsory waiver forms must also be completed

 There will be three divisions to compete in:

  •  Men’s Open
  • Mixed (minimum 3 females on rope)
  • School's divisions

 Members from the Australian Tug O’ War Association will be in attendance to assist with judging, giving tips and expert safety advice. Teams will receive a pack including drink bottles, a cap and information on how to Say NO to Domestic and Family Violence. If you or your organisation cannot field a complete team, please email Stephen.Williamson@cbcity.nsw.gov.au who will endeavour to place you into a mixed team of local champions.

 Other ways to show your support:

  1. Make a pledge - We’re asking our local community members, groups, organisations and businesses to pledge support in eliminating domestic and family violence in Canterbury-Bankstown. You can do this by leaving a message on our Pledge Wal
  2. DV Safe Phone - We will be collecting old phone to donate to victims of domestic violence. DV Safe Phone collects, repurposes and gifts mobile phones to victims of domestic violence. These 'Safe Phones' provide a lifeline to call for help when it is needed most. Their goal is to get a safe phone into the hands of every victim of domestic violence who needs one. Get your old phone out of your bottom drawer and into the hands of a victim of domestic violence. You could save a life.
  3. DV Directory - Familiarise yourself with local support services via Canterbury Bankstown Domestic Violence Liaison Committee
  4. Come along and support other teams participating on the day

 Come along to show your support to Say NO to domestic violence and YES to healthy relationships.
