Share your Story – Equity in the NDIS for People with Psychosocial Disability

Dear Fellow,

The direction of NDIS reform for people with psychosocial disabilities is increasingly concerning. At One Door, we’ve identified alarming trends showing higher denial rates for access and poorer experiences for this group within the scheme. These issues are not only inequitable but risk worsening under the current reform trajectory.

What We’re Hearing:

  • Only 24% of applicants succeed compared to 80% across all disabilities.
  • Stringent barriers are locking out those with psychosocial disabilities.
  • Satisfaction rates are shockingly low—just 25% compared to 45.6% for all disabilities.

Are you or your loved ones feeling left behind by the NDIS? Have you faced challenges accessing support or navigating the system due to psychosocial disability? Are you a carer with a story to share? We would love to hear from you!

We’re seeking fellowship members in a carer’s role to share their experiences with the NDIS:

  • Share your experiences with us—good or bad.
  • Let us know what specific problems you’ve faced.
  • Tell us if you feel these challenges arise because of the nature of the person you support’s disability.

By sharing your stories, we look forward to strengthening our collective voice to advocate for better access and improved experiences for people with psychosocial disabilities within the NDIS.
