Safety in and around the home : FREE ONLINE session

April 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

 Tuesday 21 April 2026 | 12-1pm

Keeping young children safe at home can feel overwhelming, especially when they’re curious and always on the move. This session will help parents keep their young children safe at home, on the road, and during play. This information is most suited to parents with children aged up to 5 years.

During the session, we will talk about:

  • How to reduce risks like falls from windows, unstable furniture, burns and scalds, and swallowing dangerous items such as button batteries.
  • What to look out for with child car seats, including common mistakes people don’t realise they’re making.
  • How to keep young children safe around driveways, footpaths and roads.
  • Ways to create safe play spaces that still allow children to explore and learn.

The session will be presented by Christine Erskine, Executive Officer at Kidsafe NSW, a non-government not-for-profit charity organisation with a mission to prevent child injury through education, advocacy and research.
