Youth Engagement Project presents:
IN PERSON TRAINING GEN Z & COMMUNITY TRAINING
Gen Z & Gen Alpha in a Digital World
Young people today are shaped by technology, social media, and constant connectivity. This session
explores how online culture impacts their identity, communication, and wellbeing and how as adults
we can respond with strategies that foster autonomy, competence, and relatedness – elements that
underpin the Self Determination Theory and engagement.
Trauma-Informed Practice in the Digital Age
Online experiences – cyberbullying, global crises, digital overwhelm – can activate protective
responses in young people. This session equips participants with trauma-informed strategies to
create safe, supportive spaces for sensitive conversations without harm.
Behaviour, Boundaries & Belonging
Digital pressures influence how Gen Z and Alpha show up in classrooms and communities. This
session explores relational approaches to behaviour that balance clear expectations with empathy,
belonging, and re-engagement. Through a Trauma Informed lens we talk about the PACE model and
how to manage behaviours in an inclusive and empathetic manner to ensure belonging and safety.
