The effects of screen technology on children’s brain
Start School Strong is offering this information session for mums, dads, carers and grandparents with children up to the age of 6 years.
Research shows that screens can cause serious problems for a child’s brain development, social development and mental health.
Counsellor and Parent Educator, Petra Will-Herat will talk about:
• the effects of mobile phones, television, and tablets on a young brain
• how much screen time is safe at different ages
• how can parents know if your child is addicted to or using too much screentime
• skills for limiting the use of screens and giving children ways to socialise instead
Vietnamese and Arabic interpreters are available for this session on request. Please let us know if you would like an interpreter when you register. Interpreters will need to be booked at least one week before the session.
