  • NSW Local Government Multicultural Network (LGMN) will be hosting the CALD Covid Summit 29th July 10-11.30am (Zoom meeting).

We are keen to hear experiences of CALD specific agencies who have been working within these extraordinary times supporting diverse communities.

We are aware that information is not reaching into many diverse communities in a way that actively engages the communities and individuals to enable them to fully understand what is required of them now and into the coming weeks of the COVID-19 response nationally.

The summit will be facilitated by Atem Atem Community Project Officer, Fairfield City Council who will moderate our open discussions as we are keen to capture our stories of these experiences.

You will be hearing form those working in the frontline on what this journey has been like for them and those they serve.

     The summit will unpack:

    • What was that experience like for agencies and services that were supporting CALD communities? was appropriate resources provided?
    • What are the barriers experienced by CALD communities in receiving information about COVID-19?
    • Are the messages cutting through? What communication strategies would enable CALD communities understand the need for COVID testing and therefore increase their uptake of the tests?
    • How should CALD communities be supported to address any concerns about COVID-19 related matters?
    • What needs to be done to prepare CALD communities for post-COVID-19 world? How should communities be supported in their recovery?

Agencies and services supporting diverse communities are invited to take part in this state-wide conversation, your valuable contributions can assist in supporting our recovery through these very complex circumstances we are all working under.
