    Course description:

    The program is delivered across 1 semester 2025 two days a week Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 3pm starting on 13 February 2025 to 20 June 2025, excluding school holidays.

     

    Term 1 and 2 (Friday) 14 February to 20 June

    BSBPEF101  Plan and prepare for work readiness

    Term 1 (Thursday) 13 February to 10 April

    TAFE STATEMENT IN EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS– CSO 5555

    Major themes of this course will be Understanding of the Hospital/Medial sectors and Health System Orientation.

     

    Term 2

    Work experience 30 hours (to be determined)

    In previous programs we have arranged work experience for students. We are work towards offering the same – if arranged during May and June 2025 students we undertake up to 30 hours at a health facility or local community service organisation (subject to change).

     

    This course also provides:

    Healthcare is one of the largest industries of employment for Western Sydney residents. Learn about the recruitment process with local Hospitals, health centres and community organisations in the Canterbury Bankstown area.

     

    You may be nominated to participate in work experience with Canterbury Hospital, Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital and other Health Services and local community service providers in the Canterbury Bankstown area. This will build on your skills and give you and local work experience.

    The roles may include:

    • Receptionist
    • Administration Assistance
    • Data entry
    • Filing and Sorting Medical and centre Records 

    TAFE NSW also has a range of support services that may be able to help you throughout your education and training with us.

     

    Eligibility criteria: To access government-subsidised training in TAFE NSW, including fee exemptions or concessions, you must be:

    • an Australian citizen or meet the criteria of being an Australian permanent resident, a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen;
    • living or working in NSW
    • aged 15 years or older; or
    • no longer at school;
